WWE Hall Of Famer Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat has reportedly been released from WWE as part of the company's recent budget cuts.

Prior to his release, Steamboat had been working as a coach in NXT, as well as a Talent Relations assistant under Triple H at the WWE offices in Stamford, Connecticut.

This past May, Steamboat did some promotional work for the company in Malaysia, however he has been booked for several non-WWE wrestling conventions and interviews.

wwe battlegroundIt’s no secret that several of the major U.S. pay-per-view providers have been frustrated with the WWE since theWWE Network launched this February. Outside of WrestleMania XXX, which was offered by most providers, it has been up to their digression whether or not to include the monthly WWE events in their paid line-up.
Despite this, WWE began a hard pitch against traditional PPV at last month’s Money in the Bank event, where you can notice a major difference in how the commentary and production team advertised the show. Statements like “don’t pay for traditional PPV when you can get Money in the Bank for just $9.99″ were made to directly influence the fans away from companies like Comcast, DirecTV, etc.
Today an email went out to all WWE subscribers – the title read “watch Battleground LIVE, only on WWE Network”. The email previews the main matches for the show, and contains multiple ads for the Network, without a single mention of cable providers. It’s worth noting that this Sunday’s event, at this time, is still be offered by most PPV providers.
- It is being said that Big Show's WWE return status is considered "imminent," as his role in the WWE Studios film "Vendetta" wrapped up filming on July 13th.

- As noted, Flo Rida will serve as the celebrity guest host at next week's post-Battleground edition of WWE RAW. In addition to performing a medley of his songs during the show, it is expected that he will take part in a skit or two as well.
Rapper Flo Rida will be appearing on next week's WWE RAW from Miami, Florida.

The tweet was re-tweeted by Triple H.

– The word several weeks ago was that WWE Diva AJ Lee took time off to plan her wedding to CM Punk. For what it’s worth, she asked for time off before CM Punk proposed to her so the timing worked out good. According to sources, she didn’t ask for time off originally to plan the wedding. There is no word as of this writing on when she will be returning.

– Beginning in August when WWE has several shows in California, all West Coast WWE SmackDown tapings will be be starting at 4:45PM. The reason for the change is due to WWE Main Event airing LIVE on the WWE Network. This means that when they are on the West Coast, WWE Main Event will air at 5PM Pacific time/8EST Eastern time.
