One week after being attacked by Kevin Owens at the NXT Takeover: R Evolution special, WWE has posted a storyline injury update on NXT Champion Sami Zayn. WWE noted that x-rays of Zayn's spine came back negative, as did a CT scan of his head.
WWE noted that Zayn was diagnosed with "cervical & thoracic muscle strains and held overnight at the Winter Park Memorial Hospital for observation." They also noted that Zayn is "currently resting before beginning physical therapy at the WWE Performance Center. WWE said he's expected back in 3-4 weeks."
